I want there to be equal pay between the Matildas and Socceroos. The Matildas earn $30-40,000 per year while, the Socceroos get hundreds of thousands of dollars. I think the FFA should make the pay equal between the Matildas and Socceroos because the Matildas made it to the Olympics and did Australia proud by getting to the quarter finals where they were unlucky to get knocked out by Brazil on penalties. The men's team haven't made the Olympics since 2008.

I was shocked to hear that the sponsorship deal that FFA has with Nike doesn't even guarantee the Matildas a pair of boots. Only the top six players get free gear. The rest of the team have to buy their own boots, shin pads, bras etc. The men's teams on the other hand get all this gear given to them by Nike.

The Matildas are a inspiration and role models to growing number of young footballers like me. We demand they receive pay justice and fair treatment now!
