Tomorrow President Maduro's regime will push for a referendum that could put an end to what is left of democracy in Venezuela. We, who sign this petition, say NO! to Maduro's tyranny and YES! to a better future for the Venezuelan people!
The United Nations, the Organization of Latin American States, the European Union and many other world leaders have called on President Maduro to stop the human rights violations and violent repression of the Venezuelan people.
You and I can not stand quiet while fellow human beings become victims of a new dictatorship. We must resist and lend our voices so that Venezuela's plight is not ignored by the world's governments.
The good and courageous people of Venezuela will go to the streets tomorrow, July 30, to put their lives in danger in order to save what is left of their republic. They will be faced by Maduro's soldiers and police, by armored vehicles and tear gas, by thugs and paramilitary hoodlums.
If we can not stand with them physically, let us at least send them a message of hope and solidarity by signing this petition and using any means at our disposal to make noise, to challenge tyranny.
Let the Maduro regime know that the world is watching! We say no to death and dictatorship in Venezuela! and yes to freedom and democracy! Yes to food and medicine for the good people of Venezuela!
This petition began as a call for attention to the plight of one being, Ruperta, the elephant starving at the Caricuao Zoo in the middle of the Venezuelan crisis. Today, I ask YOU to do something, to say something, to share this petition, for Ruperta's sake and for Venezuela's sake.
We can not stand quiet and watch as our fellow human beings fall victims to tyranny. We can not look away as more Venezuelans die, go hungry or lose hope for their loved ones in hospitals with no medicine.
Fuerza y Fe, Venezuela! Strength and Faith, Venezuela!
