This, given the recent circumstances of late, might well be my last post as I take a bit of time out to contemplate whether it is time to archive this Protect & Preserve The Folkestone Leas Facebook Group and this Change.org petition which has been a complete waste of all my time and effort because Folkestone Council refuses to accept it as none of the signatories can be varified as only a partial post code is seen next to the name of the signature.
I feel and have done for quite some time now that I am fighting a losing battle and that the Leas Promenade, trying to Protect & Preserve it, is a lost cause.
I am losing the battle as neither FHDC, its Green Party that runs it in coalition with the Lib-Dems, all its councillors from all the parties and the council officers, the police and our worst than useless Labour MP simply don't care about not only the Leas but more seriously the town centre and what it is fast becoming a toilet.
I'm getting nowhere, and this is putting my health on the line as well as putting myself and my friends at risk of verbal and physical attack, which has occurred twice now in the last few months.
To go on is pointless, going over and over the same issues tirelessly, but getting nowhere. I can't for the want of trying build up the membership numbers of people who, like me, are seriously concerned about what is happening to the Leas Promenade and other locations around it.
28 members are my personal friends, and many do not even come from Kent, let alone Folkestone.
I might just as well kick all those out of the group who are not friends, as, quite simply, there are so many I don't know, those who are not friends with me and cannot see their profile, or despite messaging them or sending them friend requests, they do not respond.
The risks are too great, and the rewards of running this group are too few, so I will allow members to comment on this post, but soon, I believe I will just jump ship and archive the group because I simply cannot be bothered to argue with people anymore.
If I can't change what is happening, then things will stay as they are, so it's pointless even trying.
Thank you to all those who have supported me and contributed to this group since I began it back in July 2025.
