I have been here in Folkestone for 3 summers now, and this year we have seen a huge increase in the number of drunks, smackheads, and rough sleepers that have invaded our town from elsewhere in the UK. The police and council seem to be reluctant or incapable of dealing with this problem. The biggest rise in any one particular crime statistics we have been told by police is shoplifting. They are ruining our town and are everywhere. Some of us are fighting back. We have set up a campaign. Our Facebook page has just 80 members, but our online petition to the Council has nearly 1,100 signatures, demanding action be taken to deal with this and other issues relating to our beloved Leas Promenade.
