Legalize cockfighting

Legalize cockfighting
The Issue
Florida. We breed raise and sell high quality poultry. It has been the sport of kings for ages. Our early presidents even enjoyed it on the white house grounds. People make a living building pens. Selling quality feeds. Vitamins. And with looser laws people will be able to actually make a living again. Florida should atleast take a look at the people's point of view. Not who can donate the most money to make a law. But look to the citizens.we can pay taxes on it.but we want cockfighting legalized. A. - Cock-fighting birds aren't kept in poor conditions. They're treated like kings. You wouldn't half starve a prize boxer before a bout, would you? B. - Most roosters don't see a fight until 1-2 years of age. That's a heck of a lot longer life-span than the chicken you're eating tonight for supper experienced, and the rooster's life was much Much MUCH better. The birds you eat are grown in disease-infested houses, and are pumped so full of hormones that they can barely stand. Gamefowl spend the first 6-8 months of their life free-ranging for bugs and enjoying life on the farm...the birds you eat are diseased and dead by then. C. - You can't "train" a chicken to fight. You can condition them, but it's not like chickens are happy go-lucky animals that have to be put through a gauntlet of rigorous test to proving themselves worthy and become aggressive. Anyone who raises Gamefowl will tell you, these birds will often fight shortly after hatching, and have to sometimes be separated or you've got chicks that are just hours old killing each other. D. - If a rooster does ever fight, it is usually over in less than a minute. They fight of their own free will, and if they lose, they get often times get eaten (yep, just like the bird on your dinner table, except these chickens had a chance of avoiding such a fate), if they win, they will probably spend the rest of their days in a brood pen will beautiful hens, making babies. Game Chickens receive the best feed and medication money can buy, the best care of any fowl on the planet (look into it), Oh, and speaking of laying houses...Go check out where the eggs in your refrigerator come from.
