Everyone, let me explain why Florida Panthers are vital to their ecosystem. Florida Panthers are the top predators of their ecosystem and eat other mammals, such as white-tailed deer, raccoons, armadillos, rabbits, etc...

The Florida Panther's prey then eats primary consumers and producers. If let's say, the Florida Panther goes extinct, then the whole ecosystem will collapse and MORE species will go extinct, making this situation SERIOUS. But how will this happen?

Well, Florida Panthers control their prey's population. This also helps maintain the population of primary consumers and producers, therefore keeping balance in the ecosystem. If the Florida Panthers go extinct, then the population of their prey will INCREASE.

This decreases the population of primary consumers and producers, which then goes back to decreasing the other consumers' populations. So in the end, the ecosystem will have a MAJOR imbalance with a loss of population. This is the main reason why Florida Panthers are important.

So, can you help the Panthers? You can sign this petition which helps save them from more human activity damage. This is just one way to help them. You can also donate to animal fundraisers, start new petitions like this, and more! http://chng.it/VKgzVzzW4x Thank you for your time.
