Millions of animals are abandoned each year. This law against abandoning animals will prevent that . Approximately 1 million animals are killed on roads . Owners buy these animals from farms and they see that they can't maintain their pets and they release them . If seen abandoning a dog cat or any animal consequences will happen: BILL As of October 1st, 2016 in the state of Florida abandoning animals will be illegal. This law will be enforced by Florida police department and the United States department of Agriculture. If this law is violated there will be a penalty of 1 year in prison for negligence and a fine of $10,000. Each year apriximatly 2.7 cats and dogs are killed because they have been abandoned in the streets. This law will decrease the amounts of dogs in the streets and in shelters dramatically.
