Take a moment to flag Thursday March 2nd 2017 on your calendar. That is the date (probably in the evening) that the Florida Department of Environmental Protection has scheduled to solicit public input on the update of the Myakka River State Park Unit Management Plan (UMP). The revised plan is not yet available for public review, so we don't know if there will be major or minor changes, or whether an increase in extractive commercial operations will be proposed. As soon as the draft is released, we'll send another e-blast with a link to what is being proposed. By putting a hold on that date, you will be increasing the chances for a solid turnout if one is needed. Thanks again for your support of one of Florida's flagship state parks.
