Every day I receive messages from people outside of the industry asking "is it true!? You don't get paid for boarding!?" Nope, we sure don't. We also don't get compensated for delays, airport sits, and for a percentage of our time during annual training, to name a few things.

Did you know that pilots also are not paid during this time? They are also required by the FAA to be on the aircraft performing incredibly important security checks, paperwork, and checklists that are required to be run through before the aircraft leaves the gate.
