551 signatures – only one step from our final goal of Phase 2.5 and MY NAME IS NOT ROWAN!

We have reached our first intermediate milestone of 551 signatures, which means we have overtaken the signature count for the Orthodox holiday recognition petition titled “Include Orthodox Good Friday in NYC School Holidays”, which means we only have one more Orthodox holiday recognition petition to beat before the dreaded phase of the campaign officially kicks off after our current Local – London scope expires.
While my family does not know about the campaign, I recently hosted a family quiz which I made and asked questions like “What does CSV stand for?”, “What month in 2025 did the Birmingham bin strikes start?” and “In which year was change.org founded?” giving subtle clues to my secret life as a change.org campaigner and my online activities!
Two of my other concurrent active campaigns have reached big milestones in recent days, on Saturday 10th October my UK-centric summer solstice twilight awareness campaign reached its 100-signature milestone and yesterday my “Earliest Easter Spinoff” multi-cause platform improvement campaign against change.org reached its 200-signature milestone, exactly 31 days after hitting the 100 mark despite two long campaign breaks within that time due to a lack of funds and protecting certain signatures.
Our next goal is to reach 569 signatures to overtake our last competing Orthodox holiday recognition petition titled ”Save Christmas for All Religions”, then our next competing goals are not until 795 and 921 signatures. There are a few outliers in the thousands, most likely because those petitions were shared on social media then stalled out, but the 250-500 signature range is where a lot of petitions stall out. I am planning on getting all my inactive campaigns under 100 signatures which I started in early 2026 (paused largely due to my focus on this Easter campaign) to the 100-signature mark.
569 signatures is also symbolic as it is exactly 1,000 signatures short of a previous successful campaign I ran thanks to my supporters engaging with my email updates, chipping in and sharing on my behalf.
The two abandoned Orthodox holiday recognition petitions which I found a few weeks ago have successfully cleared the 5-signature visibility milestone as I chipped in, and despite the hyper-local title “Close all NYC Public Schools on January 7th for Orthodox Christmas“, it is absolutely NOT a highly localised issue, it’s a global one. Schools need to be closed for Orthodox Christmas across the entire United States AND on Orthodox Christmas here in the UK, which is why it needs it needs my very own ungeofenced signature ALL THE WAY FROM THE UK!
Likewise the petition titled "Honoring Faith and Diversity: Making January 7 a Federal Holiday" which has surpassed the 5-signature milestone thanks to my support, quite clearly needs my British signature because Orthodox holiday recognition is just as bad here in the UK as in New York City!
I also chipped in to promote the other bin strike petition that got completely stuck at 441 signatures titled “The Prime Minister to Act in the Birmingham Bin Dispute” which now has 444 signatures.
I will post my next update when we clear the final milestone of 569 signatures before the new start and despite what the Google AI Overview thinks and gets information about my campaign updates wrong over 50% of the time, my real first name is six letters long and is NOT Rowan, it is either Roland, Robert or Ronald!
