Last week we submitted our petition to Kildare County Council calling for:

1) Build a bypass around the East side of Clane which will pick up HGVs from Kilcock/N4 as well as traffic coming in from Celbridge and Naas, making it easier to get home and removing cars from the Main Street.

2) Remove some on-street parking on Main Street to ease traffic and give buses space to pull in and pick up passengers. 

3) Ensure we have a bus service that shows up and has enough seats by allocating more frequent and bigger buses on all bus routes through Clane, especially the 120 and 139. 

4) Build a new greenway along the River Liffey to link with cycle lanes in Sallins and allow people to get to Sallins train station in 15-20 minutes by bike. 

This petition and our voices are already making an impact. They have doubled the frequency of the 139 and launched the Clane Town First Plan to improve Main Street, all since our petition began. 

Our petition has been a very positive start, but there is much more work to do. Thank you all for your continued support and I hope to speak to many of you soon on the doorsteps.
