Click here to draft a letter to the Minister and your local MP  (takes 2 minutes)

Thank you for supporting Fish For All in our campaign against the State Government’s new fishing rules.  You are one of more than 10,000 people who have signed our change.org petition.

The new rules are now in place and our community is hurting, but unfortunately, the Minister and the Government aren’t listening.

Fish For All is humbled by the amount of support we have received.  Many of you have asked us how you can help.

So this is our ask of you – please write to the Minister and your local Member of Parliament – by doing this they can’t ignore the community sentiment.

If you go to our website, www.fishforall.com.au you will see a link to a tool we have created to help make this quick and simple for you.

Step 1 – Go to www.fishforall.com.au/letter

Step 2 – We have created an easy tool that will take your information and in less than 30 seconds email you a draft customised letter to your local MP and the Minister.

Step 3 – Check you are happy with the letter and then send it in a new email to the addresses provided.

This process will take only two minutes of your time but will mean so much to the fishers, wholesalers, processors, retailers and the regional communities that are already hurting from these cuts.

We are clear on what we want from the Government and have put a sensible, four-point compromise to the Minister:

1.  Commission an independent biomass survey so we are using credible and recent data to make these decisions.

2.  A pause of the compulsory acquisition of commercial licences on the West Coast, instead making it a voluntary buyback. This will allow those fishers wish to wait for the independent science to keep their licence.

3.  Allow commercial fishes to target species and zones such as very deep water where there is no threat to dhufish and pink snapper stocks.

4.  Shark fishing to continue in the West Coast zone with their commitment to implement measures already approved by the DCCEEW in late 2025.

Thanks for your support.
