From May 2018, First Transpennine Express are planning to reduce the amount of services they have stopping at Penrith. They are looking to almost eliminate services to Edinburgh from Penrith and replace these with services to Glasgow which already has a decent service. 

As an example of First Groups plans, they are looking at eliminating vital Edinburgh trains mon- sat including: 07.53, 09.20 and 15.55 all of which will massively impact on workers travelling to Carlisle during the week as well as school children who use these services throughout term time. 

The only way something will be done is if commuters and the local community make their voice heard. Please sign this petition and spread the word!
