Dear Residents,

After dedicating 10 months of effort in 2024 to clear the illegal and hazardous RVs and homeless camps from Flickinger Road, we are frustrated and disheartened to see that they are back again in growing numbers. It feels like our city officials are asleep at the wheel, and the hard-earned progress we made is slipping away.

We cannot afford to wait another 10 months for the city to take action. We need to send a clear and united message to the city that this issue cannot be ignored. Let’s flood their inboxes with emails demanding immediate and lasting action to resolve this problem.

 
Here is the update we posted on October 16, 2024. The city didn’t act on it then, which is causing the problem today:

Dear Supporters,

While many of the illegally parked RVs were removed earlier this year, at least 5–6 RVs are still parked illegally on the other side of Flickinger Avenue, near the 7-11. This incomplete work by San Jose City officials is a red flag that more RVs could soon return.

Two weeks ago, police issued notices to these RVs, but no further action has been taken since then. Meanwhile, the situation is escalating:

Tents and makeshift barbecue setups are popping up near the RVs.
In one alarming instance, emergency cones were used to block a lane of traffic.
These developments pose serious safety risks, including traffic accidents and fire hazards, not to mention the declining quality of life for residents.

We urge the police and city officials to take swift and continuous action to:

Fully resolve the current situation.
Enforce measures to ensure these camps do not reappear.
