On Friday, news emerged that Liverpool are open to talks to sell vice-captain Andy Robertson. In a season where shunning the old in favor of the new has only led to problems, Robertson is a welcome beacon of stability and unity in the Liverpool team.

FSG wouldn't get the idea to sell Robertson if he was playing regularly. Yet Arne Slot has inexplicably dropped him from the squad, even when new left-back Milos Kerkez has shown several teething problems. Even though Kerkez has been improving, to his credit, Slot refuses to rotate with Robertson, which is mind-boggling considering how light Liverpool are on defensive cover. One injury, and Liverpool risk repeating the defensive crisis of 2020-21, where midfielders had to drop into defense for extended periods.

Overall, this is poor decision-making from FSG in general, but it stems from Arne Slot and his exceedingly poor man-management. Robertson has repeatedly mentioned his desire for more minutes, and considering that Liverpool are still in three different competitions, Slot has had plenty of opportunities to give them to him. And considering this is far from the first offence, it's time FSG cut off the real problem.
