Please sign this petition to halt Fingal County Council further chopping down mature trees in Skerries town. Already we have lost a number of tree's this week  and a meeting has been arranged on Tuesday with them  to put the wishes of the town forward and protect our beautiful trees. There has been a huge outcry from townspeople wanting to protect the trees and for the council to look at other matters to address the issues on the pavements with the roots and fix them accordingly. I feel that the Council chose the simplest and cheapest method when other options are viable that will mean our trees can be saved.  After all many towns and cities all over the world manage to have their trees in towns on pavements.

  We have a family on Church St , Skerries doing an amazing job operating a rota to protect trees in front of their house . This is what you can do to help sign your name and show how strongly we feel about protecting nature and the natural  environment of the town. Its a critical time as we all know and every tree has to be protected.  We will give the petition to the Council at the meeting on Tuesday and make sure they hear the  demands of the Skerries community.
