Hello everyone,

As you are aware that State Bank of India (SBI) has recently imposed some fines if you do not maintain a minimum balance of Rs. 5000/- (in metros), Rs. 3000/- (in other cities), Rs. 1000/- (in rural areas). However, it becomes very difficult to maintain the minimum balance in our account everyday, specially by the lower middle classes. When SBI itself can't assure that its ATM machines will dispense money all the time even if I have sufficient balance in my account, how can they impose fine on not maintaining minimum balance in my account. Lets sign this petition so that SBI withdraws the said fines or ask them to credit Rs.500/- to our accounts against every failed transaction when one ATM fails to dispense cash due to nonavailability of cash or other technical errors.
