House Bill Number 4982 or An Act Probihiting Discrimination on the Basis of Sexual Orientation or Gender Identity or Expression (SOGIE) has been overdue for almost 2 decades already. We need this bill to be passed to eventually achieve equality for everyone. The bill is seeking for the state to recognize the fundamental rights of every person regardless of age, ethnicity, race, especially their SOGIE to be free from any form of discrimination. This bill will protect the LGBTQIA+ community from discrimination and harassment, gender profiling, denial to services, and refusing admission or dismissing individuals from work or school.
