In a country that feels like it has gone back in time, stories like this remind us WHY abortion must be considered healthcare for all. A man raping a child already causes emotional and physical damage to the child without having to deal with a pregnancy. A 10 year old’s body cannot handle a pregnancy regardless of if the body is able to conceive. The fact that the unborn child in this CHILD meant more in Ohio than the living child is ridiculous.
The republicans called this story a hoax. They have filled people’s brains stating that rape victims don’t get pregnant and that cases of incest, rape, or medical emergencies only make up a small percentage of abortion cases. It’s simply not true. I, personally, can speak about many friends who have needed abortions or have had miscarriages due to medical issues. I also know a child who was raped. None of this is made up. The fact that we have a political party making up these lies and spreading them is very scary.
i have written letters to the White House, my local government, and am getting involved locally with bigger organizations trying to fight these awful bans stripping us of our rights. This petition is so important as we continue to build signatures so it will be noticed when it is sent to our legislators. Please keep sharing and speaking up!
