After a warm-up tournament in Qatar last month, the Palestinian team’s coach, Jamal Mahmoud and his assistant were refused entry back into the West Bank by Israel and had to wait in Jordan for two weeks. And one of the team’s players, Sameh Mar’aba, was arrested. Sameh Mar'aba remains illegally incarcerated in an Israeli jail without charge. He should have been part of the squad that made history.
