The Central Microchip Portal was promised by the Government in March 2024 and nothing has happened? Linking the 23 compliant microchip databases instantly is imperative to secure our dogs and cats can be reunited quickly by supporting the process for animal authorities like vets, animal wardens and the police, the people we depend on to get our pets home to us

Introduce a Central Microchip Portal to help reunite missing pets without delay

In March 2024, the previous Government said it would make scanning, checking & reuniting lost & abducted pets more effective by introducing a central portal for approved users-vets, local authorities & police-to search all records instantly, instead of contacting databases individually.
