THIS IS OUR CHANCE TO GET THE CHANGES WE NEED!
DEFRA: We are launching this consultation to seek your views on proposals to make cat microchipping a compulsory requirement of cat ownership in England. We are also taking this opportunity to consult on the compulsory scanning of pets (dogs and cats) for microchips.

The Government want to hear from you.

Government Online Consultation for dog and cat Microchipping and Scanning: Responses should be received by 17 February 2021.

Click the survey link and answer the questions to make it a legal requirement for veterinarians to scan and check microchips on dogs and cats at first presentation :-https://consult.defra.gov.uk/companion-animals-team/cat-and-dog-microchipping-and-scanning-in-england/

BBC video link on Dog Theft and the need to get microchips checked by vets:- https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/av/stories-55356211

What needs to change to make Microchipping work?

We want compulsory scanning and microchip registration checks at pets first veterinary treatment, at rescues on hand-ins and authorities to help reunited stolen and missing pets.

We also want the Government to create a centralised database for quick access to all authorities, to help reunite registered missing microchipped pets:- https://petition.parliament.uk/petitions/551556

THANK YOU FOR YOUR CONTINUED SUPPORT #MakeChipsCount
