Petition update#FernsLaw: Update the pet microchip system to reunite stolen and missing dogs & cats. The Government has responded to your petition – “Fern’s Law“

We welcome the response from the Government but we must all be cautious when words like ‘consider’ ‘guidance’, ‘should’, ‘advising’ and ‘encouraging’ are used. We’ve been duped before by BVA using ‘Best Practice’ and ‘recommendations’, which turned out to be useless. BVA will do everything in their power to convince the Government not to introduce compulsory scanning and checking microchips to help reunite missing pets that have been sold on, kept or rehomed! It’s up to us to protect our pets. Please help us reach 100,000 signatures to get a proper debate in Parliament and close the loopholes:-

Thank you for helping, we can’t do this without you - our pets are depending on us!

Hope is the last thing to die!

Last year a few of the people searching for their microchipped pets auditioned for Britain’s Got Talent - sadly they didn’t get through to the TV audience.

They have tried everything but while the microchip system fails them nothing will change. You can help by simply signing this petition. Give these dogs and cats a chance to get home - that’s all they want - make it compulsory to scan and check microchips on original database at pets 1st consultation or annual health check if the first consultation check has been missed.

Microchips only work if they are checked!

Please check to see if you have signed this new petition on this link. Thank you #ScanMe https://petition.parliament.uk/petitions/300010
