The hope is to have this process completed within the next 90 days. The district is actively working on fencing in the playground. I will continue to post updates here as I receive them. Please see the update from Superintendent Dr. Torie F. Gibson below:
We want to share an update regarding the play structure and fence line at Altamont Elementary School. The District is actively working with the Livermore Area Recreation and Park District (LARPD) and the City of Livermore to adjust property lines so they align with current land use agreements. This process involves multiple agencies and may take some time as we navigate the necessary approvals.
We want to assure you that the play structure is District property. Our plan is to move the fence line so that it sits outside the structure and will remove the interior fencing, allowing students to access the play structure more easily during the school day.
Student safety is always our highest priority. We will continue to make sure that any changes maintain a safe environment for all students while improving access to facilities that support play and learning.
Thank you for your patience as we work through this process.
