We at Save Georgian Bay are sending best wishes to everyone and hope that you and your families are remaining well in these challenging times. Thanks to all of you who help us to get through it smoothly and safely.
We also wanted to bring to your attention a matter that could really use your help!
The Department of National Defence has to make a decision on whether it will host the $3.3B development. DND postponed that decision to July 31, with just less than 80 days away.
The councillors stated that cannot hear pros and cons from CAO Rob Amstrong because the public (and specifically, the well-organized opponents of the project) cannot be present in the flesh to hear it.
The original TCE report was to be presented to council on March 9th and since then, there have been several delays. Any more delays and council will not have time to digest and respond formally, prior to the DND’s extended deadline for public input.
SGB would like to encourage all of you to demand the completion and presentation of the report.
Please, take a moment to email Meaford Council and CAO Rob Amstrong requesting that the TCE report to council be completed and presented as soon as possible.
