STOP THE UNJUST CLOSURES OF SMALL BUSINESSES IN OREGON

STOP THE UNJUST CLOSURES OF SMALL BUSINESSES IN OREGON
The Issue
I am an Oregon resident. In my state, we are slowly opening businesses back up and in phase one of re-opening our economy. In order for a business to be allowed to open, our Governor, Kate Brown, has to approve it.
So far, I have seen bars, Marijuana shops, strip clubs, and shopping malls open up and be allowed to have customer admittance inside. In my community, I’ve seen very few restaurants or local, small family businesses be allowed to re-open. These small, family owned, family friendly local businesses support our community and the families within it by hiring teenagers, donating funds, and giving families things to do as well as this being their livelihood. These businesses have provided Kate Brown with viable solutions for social distancing, meeting occupancy rules, additional sanitation and limited hours. So far, after providing these solutions, many of these businesses have still been denied allowance to open. They have been deemed non-essential, and are unable to support their family. They aren’t even certain they’ll be able to open up again in the future if they continue to be forced to stay closed.
It seems that Kate Brown is only allowing businesses to open that provide a state profit such as liquor, tobacco, marijuana, etc. There seems to be no care for the small businesses and families that run them. I want ALL SMALL BUSINESSES IN OREGON to be allowed to re-open. I want Kate Brown to realize she is harming families instead of saving them. Stand with me and let these families know there are still people in their communities that care about them and support them by signing my petition so they can continue to work and keep their families afloat.
