Petition updateFDA: Warn women about health risks from breast implantsFDA: Where’s the Warning You Promised Us?

Hi friends! Our efforts helped get breast implants linked to lymphoma off the world market AND pressure the FDA to create a “proposed” safety checklist and black box warning.  Unfortunately, the FDA has an incomplete 1st draft buried on their website, and not where they should be: in the hands of every patient considering breast implants.

Last month, I was asked to join an FDA conference call with other patient advocates. The FDA asked us to help them notify 52,000 women who have the recalled Allergan implants linked to lymphoma.  Neither FDA or Allergan - with their enormous staffs and funds - can locate these patients so they asked people like me who have been harmed by implants to do the job for them!

Advocates will not accept this disregard for decades of safety studies and women’s health any longer!  We are going back to the FDA.  We won’t stop until the FDA directs surgeons to place a CONCISE safety checklist in the hands of every breast cancer patient and person considering breast implants.

There is no informed consent if we haven’t been informed - Renee Ridgeley
