THANK YOU everyone for your support, the outpouring of positivity for Quentin's project and for front yard gardens everywhere has been amazing. Almost 2,000 signatures in under 24 hours! Please keep it coming- share, post, tweet, and email the petition to your friends, families, and networks!!
Here is an update on the situation. Overall, it's good news. Communication from a City Council Member to Quentin suggests that avenues for solutions could be emerging, including:
1. Any projects that will be immediately affected by the ordinance applying to the City for a variance while they conduct their research
2. Potentially extending the City of Falcon Heights recently adopted language on native landscaping to cover vegetables, potentially preventing the need for extensive research
Both are promising solutions. But we need to keep the pressure on to speak loud and clear on this issue.
Please keep your support coming, and a friendly reminder to keep any additional advocacy on this matter POSITIVE and PRODUCTIVE. We think there are solutions to be found here that can clear this issue up and allow Quentin and other front yard vegetable gardens to keep growing heaps of goodness with minimal delay, drama, and difficulty.
Special thanks to at least one City Council Member who has already thoughtfully responded, and we look forward to working together toward a solution with City Council and with all you amazing supporters.
