Thank you to everyone who has supported, shared, and provided feedback on the petition so far. Your insights and perspectives have been invaluable.
I’ve now updated the campaign details to make our message even clearer — and to reflect the nuance that has been rightly raised.
🧾 Here’s what’s changed:
We’ve clarified that this petition is not about comparing household tasks to support worker roles — it’s about ensuring the real costs of providing a high-quality, professional household support service are funded appropriately under the NDIS.
I've also included:
✅ A stronger focus on sustainability for registered providers and ethical companies doing the right thing
✅ A clear distinction between a wage and the cost of delivering a compliant, insured, and supported service
✅ A call for a tiered pricing model — recognising that light cleaning is not the same as working in high-risk or crisis environments such as squalor, hoarding, or pest infestations
💡 The goal is simple:
To stop providers who meet their obligations and go above and beyond from being forced to operate at a loss.
This is about dignity, safety, and fair funding — for participants, for workers, and for the organisations committed to doing things properly.
🙏 If you support this, please keep sharing.
