First, I wanted to send a quick update - we have now passed 15000 signatures. The support has been unbelievable, thank you all for defending the platform and what it stands for.

I haven’t received any word from Facebook yet, but as of yesterday afternoon, the authentique_inc Instagram account disappeared. A hack is very unlikely, as I had 2-step verification enabled, and I’m unable to get a reset password link. It seems that Facebook themselves has deleted the account. We stood almost 20,000 followers strong.

It is troubling to see censorship like this taking place in 2019 - I’ve done my best to build tools for Instagram transparency and to help creators monetize from their own data, and it is starting to seem like their business interests run counter to this.

However, I will certainly not back down when transparency and integrity are facing this kind of risk. If anything, situations like this only make it more clear that something needs to be done.
