#POWERTOTHEPAGES #GiveOurPagesBack A plea to the Media from concerned, outraged, and distressed Facebook Like/Fan Page Owners Re: The recent onslaught of Like/Fan Pages unpublished on October 25, 2016 Facebook deemed it necessary to UN-publish a substantial volume of Like/Fan pages. This action was swift and without remorse. There were no notifications given to Page Owners or Page Fans regarding this maneuver. All page types were targeted, including but not limited to; Business, Parenting, Arts and Humanities, Community Organizations, Health and Wellness, and Entertainment. So to say there are literally thousands of bewildered, angry and emotionally distraught people today, would be an understatement! Many have lost access to pertinent and potentially life altering information and many more are left wondering where their daily Facebook preferences have gone. Page owners and fans alike invest precious time and hard earned money into the social media platform known as Facebook and we feel a great injustice has been committed to us all! Facebook Data Policy tells us: "We give you the power to share as part of our mission to make the world more open and connected." What we would like to know is why has this power been confiscated? Facebook “Protecting your intellectual property” tells us: “Facebook is a place for you to share the things that are important to you. You own all of the content and information you post on Facebook and you can control how it is shared through your privacy and application settings." If this is the actual case does Facebook not have a responsibility to the “owners” of the content to advise them of impending page UN-publishing procedures? With respect to being a Facebook Like/Fan Page Owner, we all know the rules and regulations Facebook puts forth so to insult our intelligence by UN-publishing successful pages without cause or just reason given to anyone is simply deplorable!
