Many pages on facebook promote violence against animals and encourage cruel actions against animals, desensitizing impressionable youth and adults to animal violence and normalising it. There is currently NO option to report based on violence against animals or promoting violence against animals. Facebook is so universal and influential, it is their responsibility to make sure the content they are displaying is not going to have a negative effect on the actual tangible world around us. It's scary to think of what the world will be like run by people who spent their early childhood with unlimited access to any information, and facebook is open game for impressionable minds who will be completely desensitized to everything awful facebook has shown them, including a lack of respect for animals.

Animals are bystanders as technology advances, and it's devastating that they will suffer at the hands of people are conditioned not to feel compassion for them because of the lack of restriction on images which promote violence against animals. All this petition wants is for Facebook to add the option to report based on violence against animals/promotion of violence against animals, and for them to take a bit more seriously the effect a lack of restriction on this material will have on future generations, and more devastatingly, the animal victims of them.
