We are deeply saddened to share that Ted Turner, the media visionary who founded Cartoon Network, passed away today, May 6, 2026, at the age of 87.

Ted Turner didn't just build a media empire; he created a home for animation that changed the lives of millions. By launching Cartoon Network in 1992, he gave the world its first 24-hour destination for cartoons—a legacy we are currently fighting to protect and expand.

As we continue our petition to extend broadcast hours and improve schedules, we do so in honor of Ted's original vision: that great animation deserves a dedicated, permanent place on our television screens. Our mission to keep the network thriving is now, more than ever, about preserving the "Turner spirit" of bold, creator-driven content.

Thank you, Ted, for giving us a place to laugh and dream. We will keep fighting for the network you built.
