On April 7th, 2015 Bing Jie Yang brought his non responsive Pomeranian DanDan to a veterinary hospital where they tried to revive him.  Dan Dan died from blunt force trauma through this body including fractured ribs, fractured liver and internal bleeding.  Yang claimed he disciplined the dog for going to the bathroom in the house.  

Bing Jie Yang, a student from China, was to only sentenced to two weeks jail time although he could have served up to a year.  Although the little dogs injuries were extensive and DA Madeline Singas said "the defendant mercilessly beat a small, defenseless dog and left the animal with broken ribs and severe internal injuries that killed him" Yang was only found guilty of misdemeanor animal cruelty. 

Although our justice system has failed Dan Dan, we are petitioning that Adelphi expels Yang and revoked his student visa.  

According to Adelphi's rules of conduct, section 10.1A physical violence and aggression of any kind is prohibited.  We implore that President Riordan and Adelphi's faculty take this matter seriously and do not allow this man to continue representing Adelphi's student body.
