Bullying is any inappropriate and unwanted action that is repeated! Any abuse that is repeated constitutes bullying. 

Just a few years ago the Australian Human Rights Commission undertook a review of gymnastics and urged that all matters regarding child abuse and neglect, misconduct, bullying, sexual harassment and assault be investigated independently and externally of the sport. This only relates to children. Thus, depending on the matter, the reporting systems in Australia exclude complaints from adult athletes or adults who are not a child’s guardian.

We now have a situation where the children who were once harmed in sport are growing up and choosing to speak up as adults. Sadly, as these individuals are now adults, their voices now bear no weight!

As adults we are now committed to using our voice to protect the next generations, just like the adult gymnasts did in the ‘Athlete A’ documentary.

We need the Australian Government to intervene by broadening the jurisdictions of Sports Integrity Australia. Your assistance in sharing this petition could help us to achieve this.
