Happy Endings to Abortion and “Me Too” Too

Somehow or other, a couple of weeks ago, Ton and I got into a conversation on abortion. Also, today, Ton asked if I could write a little on today's contemporary big media issues on “Me Too” and the sexual exploitation of women by powerful men. Jeffery Epstein, Harvey Weinstein, Placido Domingo, Roman Polanski, Woody Allen, Bill Clinton, Donald Trump, Bill Cosby etc. dominate the news cycles. There are lesser men that pose at being a big, dominant, “Top” stud that don't get the media attention, but are also problematic and sometimes violent.

Body Freedom does involve the right to decide how you want to use your body and achieve personal happiness. So, since there is some relationship between abortion and “me too”, I will try to do cover both.

Both Ton and I support Roe v Wade and the right of women to choose abortion. Ton was more empathetic to the emotional pain and agony of some women who have chosen this fairly simple medical procedure than myself. But, that's Ton's nature. Abortion is hard on many women. But, other women chose abortion to ease their life and career paths or as just another form of birth control, They know the procedure is no more complicated, emotional, or invasive than going to a dentist for a root canal. Both types of women have valid views and different sensitivities.

I don't know what theologically debatable issues of the point of when life begins has to do with the government's interest in women's health in a secular state. Fertilized human egg cells happen all the time. Most eggs don't attach to the uterine wall and just naturally go away. An estimated 1/3 of attached fertilized eggs miscarry, many too early in the pregnancy for the woman to know. So, natural fertilization and abortion are far, far from rare. Plus, there are sociological issues of global overpopulation. Should a woman be going through the extreme physical efforts to bring an unwanted child into the world? Plus, early therapeutic abortion is way medically safer than full term pregnancy. Also in hardcore political reality, even if the Supreme Court should overturn Roe v Wade, states like California, and countries like Canada and many, many other countries in the world will continue to have abortion on demand. This means that wealthier women who can afford to travel will still get their abortions and poor women will be fucked (pun intended).

Both Ton and I agree that the abortion rate could be substantially reduced by better sex education, safe sex practices, and clearer consent communication.

I have always been bothered by the hypocrisy of most of the theocratic groups opposed to abortion who simultaneously oppose sex education and safe sex practices. Forget extra-marital sex, the Roman Catholic Church and some Protestant sects even treat masturbation as a shameful sin. What free thinking person really wants to be taught to live in personal shame and guilt? Not my idea of fun. Not even with the unsubstantiated promise of eternal salvation if you toe the church party line.

Most progressive sex educators, believe that sexual role playing in America should be modified to more pleasurable and consensual experiences. The biggest sexual behavioral change is to create a cultural norm that initial sexual encounters should not include penile penetration of any body orifice, including mouth, anus, and vagina. Instead the very first sexual and erotic experience should just include nudity, cuddling, massage, and mutual masturbation (both penile and clitoral). That way there are no Pregnancy or Sexually Transmitted Disease problems. If this became the sensual norm between people, there need not be any guilt or shame. If the couple still want to see each other again, they are now mature enough and ready for THE CONVERSATION on birth control, safe words, fetishes, sex fantasies, sex histories, sex toys, penile penetration, and relationship status to proceed forward.

If these progressive steps to eroticism became a cultural standard, both parties would be operating under full and open consent and end “me too” women's subservience to powerful men. Both sides would find a resemblance to equal partnership. You could still have dominant males and subservient females, or fem males and butch females, and other roles, as long as both sides recognize these as play roles and not a social reality taking away their equality. Abortion and STD rates would fall. People will have more fun and be happier.

What do you think?

Comments welcome.

Nudist Candidate Wins 2 Million Votes for President of U.S.

Fake news headline for Ton Dou's campaign for President of the United States?

Nope, really happened in 1968. Louis Abolafia ran for President of the United States on the Hippie “Love Party.” In a famous photo and poster, he appeared nude on a fire escape with the campaign slogan, “What have I got to Hide?” According to Associated Press, he received about 2 million votes. Other leading presidential candidates were winner, Richard Nixon, followed by Hubert Humphrey and George Wallace.

Mr. Abolafia was a well known figure and performance artist in the New York City Greenwich Village art world of the time. Close friends and associates included Bob Dylan, Andy Warhol and the Factory Crowd, Hare Krishna luminaries, Allen Ginsberg, artist Yayoi Kusama, and First Lady of Canada, Margaret Trudeau.

Louis Abolafia is attributed with creating the slogan, “Make Love, Not War.” in the 1960's.

Afterwards, Louis was involved in starting the popular fetish party, Exotic Erotic Ball with Perry Mann in San Francisco in 1980. The party ran annually until 2010.

Louis died in 1995.
