Ton Dou is a singer/songwriter from Las Vegas. Ton Dou is poet-speak for Anthony Douglas. Previously, Ton Dou worked as an engineer for a major Aero-Space company. Ton is 58 years old with 5 children and several grand children. Ton is Black and his wife de jour is Asian. Ton is a nudist/naturist Bare Body Freedom Activist who frequently performs in the nude in public. You can and should Google “Ton Dou” on the Internet right now.
Bare Body Freedom is the principle that all bodies and all body parts are normal and natural.
Ton Dou anounced his candidacy for President of the United States 2020 outdoors while nude in central Times Square, New York City on July 7, 2019. Ton will hold a campaign rally along with the clothing optional annual Ultimate Freedom Concert which he hosts a Duffy Plaza, Times Square, New York City on the afternoon of Sunday, September 1, 2019. You can make your reservations on the Internet for the event and donate funds for the campaign.
A little bit about your humble blogger, George Davis. I am a mini-celebrity among the smallish number of people who follow the Bare Body Freedom aka Urban Nudist Movements. We are trying to take a so-called alternative life style and make it mainstream. I have written 3 books on Bare Body Freedom. The most influential was Naked Yoga, co-authored with my wife de jour, Yen Chu. Naked Yoga was written and photographed to remind people that just like swimming, the Olympics, dancing, public bathing, and daily activities were done in the nude, especially in ancient Greece and Rome. More on that later. I also have been arrested more than 20 times for Bare Body Freedom advocacy in San Francisco, New York City and Washington, DC. Except for 2 parking ticket level convictions, all charges have always been dropped. It’s just political harassment to discourage arstistic/political expression. The nicest thing to say about Bare Body Freedom as a movement is that there is never an expiration on the shelf life date. Bare Body Freedom is valid, always has been valid, and always will be valid.
I can’t tell you how many people have told me and I assume Ton too, that with all the problems of the world; global warming, environmental degradation, human rights, nuclear and biological weapons, etc,: Why do we dedicate and waste(?) so much time on such a trivial(?) issue? . . . If there was a line for people that didn’t think that Public Nudity was a big deal, I could be put at the head of the line. But questions are raised. Why is something like open nudity which is harmless at worst and socially beneficial at best subject to such vigorous state and police harassments in America or much of the world for that matter? Why is there such censorship of nude images on broadcast television, Hollywood movies, newspapers, magazines and even the “new” media like FaceBook, Instagram, Tinder etc.?? What is the relationship of this censorship to truth and reality? Is this a narrow minded censorship to dumb down people so they can be controlled by fundamental political and religious factions? Is this censorship meant to curb free thinking intellectual and spiritual growth?
Your natural right to Bare Body Freedom has been taken away from you. Do you see any of the other 2020 Presidential candidates trying to help you to be yourself? Do you want the same old, same old politics and fake and unreal news perimeters? Do you want a future of less worry and stress and more art and prosperity? Ton Dou is a real and natural alternative. What about the children?
I've had numerous people tell me that they are OK with public nudity and Bare Body Freedom, but somehow think that might harm childhood development.
The general principle of Public Nudity is that at worst it is harmless and at best it is socially beneficial.
On the harmless side, I have offered for over a decade money (originally $1000, now $10,000) to anyone who can write an intelligent 500 word essay telling what harm would befall a child who sees a nude body. To date, I have received zero submissions. Make some money. Send in your essay.
Psychologists, sociologists, and academicians have extensively reported on the subject of childhood and social nudity in both America and Europe. These studied can be easily Googled and researched. The conclusion of all the studies, and I repeat “all the studies” with no exceptions, is that children raised around nudity have more accurate and realistic assessments of their bodies and the bodies of others. These children have little to no body shame and the worries associated with that shame. Interestingly, older children are way less likely to participate in risky sexual behavior than children raised around nudophobia. More on that in a future blog.
So, for the mental health of American children and children everywhere, support the 2020 Presidential campaign of Ton Dou.

Background of this news – essay – blog format
A few days ago, I emailed Ton asking if he had a campaign slogan. I suggested, “One less thing to worry about!” Ton emailed back that he is using the motto, “United People 2020”. I was immediately reminded of the Citizens United Supreme Court decision that allows corporations to make unlimited political contributions to candidate and political issues. This is one of the causes for the corporate right becoming more influential in the past few years. In theory DemoPublican legislators could remedy the situation with legislation. Not many legislators exist who would give up free and easy money.
So, the motto for Ton Dou's campaign is open for suggestions. The motto of “I've got nothing to hide” has already been used by a previous nudist candidate for POTUS. According to Wikipedia.org he got 2 million votes. I'll cover his campaign in a later entry. Send in your motto suggestions and we will write up and discuss them.
Originally, I wasn't going to write in a news – essay – blog format on Ton's POTUS 2020 campaign. I was planing to write a political fiction fantasy and modify and update it as the campaign progressed. I was going to start with Miley Cyrus running as Ton's Vice Presidential running mate. As a September 2020 surprise, Melania Trump appears nude at Ton's Ultimate Freedom Concert and Campaign Rally in Times Square. Melania Trump has appeared nude in several modeling shoots and magazines. She believes in and supports Bare Body Freedom.
Donald Trump OK's Melania's presence because he believes the move will send more Democrat votes than Republican votes to Ton. That may not be true. I can say from my activist experience that I have had way more problems with machine politics Democrats than independent thinking Libertarian Republicans.
So, when I found out there were 2 million votes for a previous nudist for POTUS and there are all kinds of places to find blocs of 2 million votes. Ton could actually in real time and real life do well. In fact, if there was some kind of Great Awakening overcoming voter apathy and entertainment diversions, Ton could win.
Ton lives in Las Vegas. I asked him about establishing an over/under 2 million vote betting line. Ton told me, what I already knew, like a lot of people, he just lives in Vegas and doesn't do much gambling and doesn't know how to set a line. Anyone out there that can help us set up a betting line? I'm good for an over bet.

Where are the women?
A topic that comes up frequently in Urban Nudism is “Where are the women?” From clothing optional events in San Francisco to Ton Dou's 2018 Ultimate Freedom Concert in Times Square, NYC to World Naked Bike Rides all over the globe; less than 10% of the nude participants are women. Yet, as far as I can tell and have researched, as many women as men support Bare Body Freedom.
Under current social conditions of porn culture and vestigial patriarchy in many cultures, women are more sexually objectified than men. They are made to feel uncomfortable with their bodies and uncomfortable with full social equality with men.

Urban Nudist Walks in San Francisco and Veep Campaign Selection
Public acceptance of urban nudist walks can vary by the nudists presentation and the neighborhood they walk in. Except in San Francisco's Castro District (Gay Neighborhood) where urban nudism is common, public perception will range from surprise to unprocessed acceptance. “Oh, a naked person. I've got to get to the grocery store.” The only problem areas are ghetto neighborhoods that have a lot of angry people, who perceive you as disrespecting them.
Solo walking sometimes involves wary people not knowing if you are mentally stable and not wanting any problems. The best public acceptance today of urban nudism is a nude man walking with a nude woman, even in gay neighborhoods. By the way, age and body shape do not seem to make a difference with the public acceptance. In international tourist areas, like Fisherman's Wharf (San Francisco), Michigan Avenue (Chicago), and Times Square (New York), mixed gender nude couples are treated like rock stars by the public. “Can we have your picture?”
I discussed my observations of nude walks with Ton. He agrees with me that he should run with a female vice-presidential candidate. Since Ton is a singer/songwriter and in some of his songs, he sounds like Elvis Presley, I suggested teaming with a jazz. blues, or country and western singer with a strong vocal style. . . . Not that singing is the only skill set that Ton needs for a Veep candidate, but we can see how the duet can raise campaign funds, create interest, and cover campaign expenses. Other creative and ambitious talents in a Veep candidate will work and be considered. . . . Consider this as an advertisement for a Veep candidate. All ambitious women who believe in Bare Body Freedom should apply. Other than over 18, there is no age limit, and other than general healthiness, there is no special body shape requirement. I Care
A couple of weeks ago, I asked Ton, “Why are you running for President of the United States?”
He replied, 'Because I care.” Great answer.
Ton's reply made me reflect on how much I really care. To some degree, I feel that I am an existential being who is living in a post-Apocalyptic world. We live with Weapons of Mass Destruction, murderous soul sucking fundamentalist nationalism and religions, and unsustainable environmental degradation.
On the environment, I read a 1969 newspaper science reportage that the last vestige of “clean air” in America, undisturbed by mankind's presence, had just went extinct. (In the mountains, outside of Falstaff, Arizona) I felt it was a sign of the beginning of the end. . . . As I see it, at my chronological age of 73, I will make it out OK. My pet dogs for sure will make it out OK. My kids will probably do OK. My grandkids are totally fucked.
Sure, I've written 3 books on Bare Body Freedom and been arrested more than 20 times on nudity related charges. I know this work involves a fundamental change of consciousness towards a more realistic view of humanity and togetherness. I just question whether it's too late and whether I just do this work as an amusing artistic challenge and psycho-sociological experiment with truth and reality.
Whatever.
All this means is that I am not running for President and don't write me in.
Vote and support Ton Dou for President of the United States. He cares.

War and Peace
I haven't had a conversation with Ton on the subject of the military. I'm not sure how much he has thought about the subject.
When Ton becomes President of the United States, he inherits the most kick-ass armies, navies, and air forces (counting alliances like NATO) in human history. I think that there are ten all-the-time operational US aircraft career fleets. Any one of those fleets ordinance capable of winning World War II within 30 days.
I propose forming military Commando Squads (Pun intended) of volunteer male and female members to organize clothing optional parties in cities all over the world. The entertainment would be 50% of the best of the world international stars and 50% of the best of regional entertainment. Complimentary food and drinks, both regional and international would be served. Regional and international art work would be on display. Sort of a clothing optional Burning Man style parties, except free to attend, with a strong regional touch and paid for out of the military budget.
What does a festival like this cost?
A million dollars a day?
What does a A35 stealth tactical attack bomber cost?
Over 100 million dollars. That pays for a lot of parties and social change.
Which kind of party is more fun? The Communist Party of China or US foreign policy parties? Regional theocratic ruling parties like in India, Iran, Saudi Arabia or US foreign policy parties?
I'm sure Ton will have comments to make on War and Peace.

Economic Policy
I haven't talked to Ton yet about his economic policy. I thought that I would provide mine and let Ton comment and expand his economic philosophy.
There are only 2 things you can do with money. Spend it or invest it.
A German business man once told me, “I would rather be a rich man in a rich society, than a rich man in a poor society.” That sums up my philosophy. Everyone in the world deserves nutritious food, clean affordable housing, good public health services, clean air, and good water and utility infrastructure. Everyone deserves the right to free spiritual/meditative and artistic development and even material perks if they want to work for or inherit them like exotic vacations, luxury cars, penthouse apartments, and spa treatments.
To me, the upper boundary to being rich is the current equivalent of $20 to $30 million per nuclear family. That will buy a comfortable living in even the most expensive cities in the world, gourmet meals with good wine, luxury spas, exotic vacations, 2nd homes, and 1st class travel. I have no problem with extended family or business associations pooling their investment monies together. . . . Where it gets weird is when you get into the distorted influence of people with hundreds of millions and billions of dollars. You then get your Bernie Madoffs, the Saudi Crown Prince, Donald Trump, Jeffry Epstein, Koch Brothers, Vladimer Putin, and many others who don't deserve to lick your feet.
Details like whether land should be long term government leases or fee simple ownership with inheritance taxes, health care should be government financed or single payer insurance, colleges should be privately scholarship endowed or free public, or a VAT tax better than a sales tax can be worked out later. The point is to set the stage for everyone to be as happy and prosperous as they can make themselves.

Am I President, Yet
Ancient Greece and Rome were clothing optional societies. Some historians clock the fall of the classical world to when in 376 AD Christian Roman Emperor Theodosius canceled the nude Olympic games after over a thousand years, because the games were too pagan.
The last modern state to have a strong Bare Body Freedom Movement was the German Democratic Republic aka East Germany prior to the 1989 fall of the Berlin wall and re-unification economic takeover by West Germany. Nudity, sexual freedom, and birth control were supported by the government to differentiate itself from the wealthier West Germans. Note: independent nudist and sexual freedom organizations were not allowed, only the practice. There is a widely Internet circulated photo of a nude young woman reportedly being Chancellor Angela Merkel herself. At the time of the fall of the Berlin Wall, polls showed that 97% of the East German population supported the nudist and sexual policies. With education and familiarity with Bare Body Freedom, this could be the American polling numbers. In other words, with a Great Awakening, Ton can't lose the 2020 election.
In more conventional wisdom politics in contemporary America, widespread acceptance to support for Bare Body Freedom can be found, besides those who label themselves as nudist/naturists, among:
Doctors, nurses, emergency medical personnel, psychiatrists, psychologists
Most policemen, firemen and frontline people who serve and protect the general citizenry and deal with way more disturbing incidents all the time
Intellectuals
Scientists
Artists
Sexual freedom advocates, including Gays, BDSM practitioners, family planning groups
Remember, Pope John Paul II wrote about accepting nudity, and his writings have never been denounced by his successors. Roman Catholic Spain has one of the strongest Bare Body Freedom Movements in the World.
Suburbanite, live and let live types, which is the overwhelming majority of people
Woodstock generation and those that believe the dream
Libertarians
Human Rights Advocates
Melia Trump, but no one asked her
Miley Cyrus and Madonna, no one has to ask them
People who don't vote because they do not see an opportunity for real change

I can only foresee Ton getting 2 million votes. With a list like this, how can he lose?
