Now I have seen a comment and I want to clarify, this is not about greed, this is about justice for victims. Yes some people may get nothing and I agree. I am very fortunate to have done, however this is because I took back control, I took a chance and i decided to pursue my healing Journey down a very difficult road. What I want to get across is that its not about avoiding the system, I work hard, ive worked since 17 throughout multiple traumas. And I have had to survive. Now this seems like a lot of money but this day and age it really isn't, someone people may use this for debts but once they've taken steps to use this towards their healing Journey maybe they will have that confidence to access employment again or education whereby they may require benefits to aid them further with their journey.
Now I know I cant please everyone and others are entitled to their opinions but please think of all scenarios and avenues. I speak up not for me but for other vulnerable people in society that this could impact. And I see it through my work every day and I see the damage it can cause. Victims already feel a significant amount of guilt, shame and blame lets not enforce that further and let's challenge societal views.
