Greetings everyone,
This morning turned out to be a time for remembrance and action!
I started by searching for molasses to make homemade barbecue sauce, and guess what? I found my grandfathers kitchen timer hidden in a dark corner of the cabinet!
Finding the timer brought back many memories of making one of the three breakfasts he routinely ate: coffee, toast, and boiled eggs.
He was an engineer, even when it came to boiling eggs.
during the time I cared for him, I remember using the timer to make sure his soft-to-medium boiled eggs were just right.
Due to sentimental reasons, I’d used the timer but never cleaned it. Then, I got worried that it’d stop working, and I’m sure that’s how it found its place in the dark corner of the cabinet for years. Don’t judge, empathize.
Today, I decided to give the timer a good clean and give it a try!
So, that’s how we got to this part of the morning and this post!
Finding it made me remember that — just like the timer, I’m still working to make sure his contributions to automotive history and technology are recognized.
