Our Petition for evidence-based literacy instruction is being noticed!

All students enrolled in ACT Schools deserve the same opportunity to learn to read whilst at school, no matter their difficulties. If you can't read, you can't learn. If you don't learn to read before you finish school, then life becomes very challenging.
We have waited long enough! Unfortunately, too many Australian students leave school without the necessary proficient literacy skills they need to function in society. The current literacy instruction ideologies used by educators in Australia (including the ACT) are not working and need to be replaced with instruction backed by scientific evidence to greatly improve outcomes.
Let's support our kids and their futures by giving them the opportunity to learn to read whilst at school, by supporting the implementation of evidence-based reading instruction in schools.
