SPECIAL OFFER – Free Copy of ‘Fighting Fascism in Brighton’ for the next 25 People Who Purchase Zionism During the Holocaust
My recently issued book Zionism During the Holocaust shows how the Israeli state and the Zionist movement, even after the holocaust had begun in the summer of 1941, continued to collaborate with the Nazis. The Zionist movement adamantly opposed the rescue of Jews to anywhere but Palestine, their ‘logic’ being that if other countries were able to rescue the Jewish refugees what was the point of a Jewish state.
In Hungary Rudolf Kasztner, the leader of Hungarian Zionism suppressed the Auschwitz Protocols which had been written by two Jews, Rudolf Vrba and Alfred Wetzler, who had escaped on 10 April 1944 from Auschwitz. It revealed, for the first time, that Auschwitz was not just a labour camp but also an extermination camp. It provided a detailed outline of the camp and the extermination process.
In an agreement with Adolf Eichmann Kasztner secured a special train out of Hungary to Switzerland for 1684 of the Jewish and Zionist elite of Hungary and his own family. In return Kasztner and his Zionist henchmen misinformed Hungarian Jewry as to the destination of the deportation trains.
This was subject to a major trial in Israel between 1954 and 1958 when Kasztner sued a pamphleteer Malchiel Greenwald, who had accused him of collaboration in the mass murder of Hungarian Jews. When Judge Benjamin Halevi pronounced, in 1955, that the allegations against Kasztner were true, after it was discovered that he had gone to Nuremberg to exonerate major Nazi war criminal Kurt Becher, the second Israeli government under Moshe Sharrett fell.
All of this and more has been suppressed by the Zionist movement for over half a century. When Hannah Arendt, herself a refugee from Nazi Germany, wrote about this in her book Eichmann in Jerusalem – The Banality of Evil she was demonised as a ‘self-hating Jew’ and accused, surprise surprise, of being an anti-Semite.
Jonathan Freedland, the Guardian’s Zionist gatekeeper, has recently written a biography of Vrba but he has been careful not to point the finger at the Zionist movement. It is ironic that Freedland, who waged the Guardian’s anti-Semitism smear campaign against Corbyn wrote a book about an anti-Zionist Jewish hero but it’s not surprising really since the Zionist movement, inside and outside Nazi occupied Europe was not part of the Jewish resistance to the Nazis.
My book Zionism During the Holocaust is over 500 pages with more than 3,000 footnotes, primarily from Zionist sources. It has been widely and favourably reviewed with one exception. Mark Goldberg in the Zionist journal Fathom described it as ‘the worst book I have ever read’. That in itself should be a recommendation!
I will also give the first 25 purchasers of Zionism During the Holocaust a free copy of my first book, ‘Fighting Fascism in Brighton and the South Coast’. Buying Zionism During the Holocaust directly from me costs £10 paperback and £15 hardback (inc. p&p), one-third less than the publisher’s price!
