Let’s talk about periods!

Language is very important in contributing to and tackling the stigma and shame around periods. Using language like 'sanitary' or 'hygiene' when we talk about periods implies that they are dirty, or something to be embarrassed about. They’re not.

As the Girlguiding Advocate panel, we’re asking you to join us in pledging to tackle shame and stigma associated with periods. Periods are normal, not shameful!
