A member club received an email from Mike Hannaway at the league last night.

Essentially they are holding to the line that the vote was legal, as it was a majority and that girls have an opportunity to play be that a JPL OR grassroots club! So it’s all ok!

Regarding the vote clubs are looking at taking legal advice as based on clause 14 of the leagues handbook they do not believe it is clear that this was a majority.

Extract From Mike Hannaways email below:

‘For clarity on the voting - we believe the vote is fully compliant with rule 14, which states a proposal to change a Rule shall be carried if a majority of those present, entitled to vote and voting, are in favour.’

In many’s people opinion an abstention is a vote as the individual had to select that option and therefore 45% is not a majority……clubs are seeking legal advice and I will update when I know more.
