As we begin a new year, it’ll come as no surprise to you that we’ve got a growing school funding crisis on our hands.
Adding fuel to the fire, our latest figures have found that pupil-to-teacher ratios are on the rise across 73% of local authorities in England.
That means larger class sizes, increased workload for staff and less individual attention for each child.
Find out how your school is affected at schoolcuts.org.uk
As heads do all they can to balance the books, and school staff pull long hours to shield pupils from the impact of cuts, we’ve known for a long time that this is simply not sustainable.
And now the Government’s own data shows that secondary schools in England have had to let go an average of 5.5 members of staff over the last two years.
How much more can they cut?
Go to schoolcuts.org.uk to see the impact on classrooms.
Then, crucially, share what you find. Every parent needs to know what’s happening to school funding — and every share helps set the record straight.
We’ve already mobilised millions and together we can’t stop until schools get the funding they so urgently need.
Thank you,
Andrew Baisley
