We are signing this petition in support of Ecuador maintaining its current constitutional prohibition of Genetically Modified Seeds, and for a global ban of all pesticide-dependent genetically modified seeds. The UPOV91 trade agreement, which paves the way for the TPP, and has enforced prohibitions in many countries against people growing, sharing and selling their own seeds is an insult against nature. We believe nature manages seed very well. We are signing in favor of open access to seed as a basic human right, which includes the right to acquire, adapt, multiply, exchange, give away and sell seeds. Food sovereignty, biodiversity and the future of our species depends on this right.
