Wackadoo! Every episode of Bluey is now available in Auslan

Since our petition, the ABC has made more than 600 episodes accessible in Auslan across 15 children’s shows and specials – from Kangaroo Beach to Do Not Watch This Show.

Now, for the first time, that includes the complete world of Bluey. All 153 episodes are available in Auslan on ABC iView!

A campaign that began with one Deaf child asking why Bluey did not speak her language has helped achieve complete Auslan access to Australia’s most loved children’s program.

And while the national Bluey marathon runs today and tomorrow on ABC Kids, Deaf children can join in – from the first episode to the last.

Auslan is front and centre across the ABC this weekend, with Bluey’s Auslan Sign and Seek – a fun interactive game narrated by Hamish Blake – running alongside the marathon.

Thank you to the more than 14,000 people who signed, shared and stood behind our petition. Thank you to the Deaf community, Deaf Connect, the interpreters and consultants, and the incredible people at the ABC and Ludo Studio who brought Auslan to the screen.

Somewhere today, a Deaf child will press play and discover that Bluey’s world has room for them.

That’s an extraordinary victory.

Together, we changed this.
