Drahí priatelia, 18.4 Generalny Prokurator Ciznar, podpisal dohodu o medzinarodnom vysetrovacom time : https://spravy.pravda.sk/domace/clanok/466597-ciznar-podpisal-v-haagu-dohodu-o-medzinarodnom-vysetrovacom-time/ 19.4 EP malo plenarne zasadanie, na ktore som poslala nasu peticiu. Prilozila som list, ktory je dole, pod mojim podpisom. Vysledkom plenarneho zasadnutia, boli dve hlavne veci: • Dokladne vysetrovanie vrazd • Vytvorenie opatreni v EU pre ochranu novinarov a oznamovatelov. Kedze su casto vystavovani trestnemu stihaniu, EP ziada o vytvorenie finacnej podpory pre nezavislu investigativnu zurnalistiku a v pripadoch ich zastrasovania. https://spectator.sme.sk/c/20808004/ep-calls-for-thorough-investigation-of-kuciaks-murder.html https://www.aktuality.sk/clanok/582553/europarlament-ziada-dokladne-vysetrenie-vrazdy-jana-a-martiny/ Co Dalej? Ak ak mate nejake otazky na mna, pripadne na projekty, najdete ma tu: https://www.facebook.com/groups/ZaSlovensko/?ref=br_rs Ďakujem Renata XXX ********************************************************************************* Chair of the Committee on Petitions European Parliament B – 1047 Brussels Belgium 08/14/2018 Ref A (2018 ) 03159 Online petition: 0252/2018 Dear Sir/Madam, It is my honour to present to you this letter and petition, which I hope you can debate on 19th of April at your plenary session in Strasbourg. Following on from the horrendous double murder of investigative journalist Jan Kuciak and his fiancé Martina Kusnirova, over sixty thousand people have signed the enclosed petition calling for the EU to send a formal team to independently investigate the murders, with a focus on possible corruption within the current government, police and judicial system. Furthermore, since the murders, hundreds of thousands of people have openly shown their anger and frustration with the government by protesting in the streets. Specifically, they are angry with politicians abusing their power for their own financial gains, with help of the police and judicial system to cover their backs. We are calling for change and for justice. We are seeking an election to put in place a moral and just government, and to bring to justice those who have been found guilty of corruption. This includes • Those who cannot prove their source of income. • Those who use their power to persecute journalists and whistle-blowers. • Those who receive EU funds for land on the pretence that it is used for agricultural purposes. • Those who actively threaten the legitimate landowners in order to take over their land. • Those who corrupt public tenders and fail to secure fair competition. Many people believe in Slovakia as a nation and as a part of the EU. The ad hoc mission of six MEPs was well received by many people and it gave us hope that we are not in it alone. I am hoping that EP can help Slovakia to spread the principles of true democracy among its people. Only by understanding and empowering can the Slovak people shape their country's destiny. With regard to how the EU can help, one tangible way is to provide or advise on a system for members of the public to raise grievance with government actions, by way of collecting signatures in a way that is clearly understood, and that it is clear that everyone can and has a right to do so. Currently, Slovakia has no simple system in collecting signatures and many individuals are simply confused about the process to challenge the government. Having a centralised safe system for petitions or referendums, safe and easily accessible to general public, would certainly give the empowerment to citizens that they desperately need. At the moment we are collecting signatures for the referendum for early elections. As pre Slovak Constitution right, we need 8% of Slovaks to sign the petition. This is over 350 thousands people. Although we have already collected over fifty thousand, this being done manually on paper and so is very time and resources consuming and may not reach everyone satisfactorily. Yours Faithfully, Renata Papcunova
