What lurks behind Bulgaria’s “veto” on North Macedonia’s accession talks?

The saga continues and it is up to us to pressure the EU member states and the USA to stop this nightmare they are putting Macedonians through; to set and enforce a standard that countries "continue to solve bilateral disputes outside the EU accession process while aspirants simultaneously progress through the opening and closing of chapters." What happens in Macedonia is important because, as The Warsaw Institute writes, "North Macedonia, a NATO member since 2020, is an important element of international security in the Western Balkans. From the Euro-Atlantic perspective, North Macedonia is located in the vital region of the Black Sea and the Adriatic Sea, which is the subject of energy investments, therefore a political instability in this country is a threat to security in Central and Eastern Europe and, more broadly, the eastern flank of NATO."  (https://warsawinstitute.org/bulgaria-blocks-eu-accession-negotiations-north-macedonia/

In the linked below New Eastern Europe article,  What lurks behind Bulgaria’s “veto” on North Macedonia’s accession talks? legal scholar Dr. Radosveta Vassileva rightly opines about the Bulgaria and North Macedonia’s Friendship Treaty signed under pressure from the EU and USA: 
   "The authorship of this “Enlargement crisis” should be sought amongst the ideologists of the Friendship Treaty (Borissov and North Macedonian Prime Minister Zoran Zaev are not among them) and the multitude of diplomats and officials who cheered when the treaty was signed. It is this treaty that empowered Borissov and provided him with an actual tool for arm-twisting, with a pseudo legal basis he can rely upon. No matter how many annexes are signed, this treaty has opened a Pandora’s box, which will poison the relationship between Bulgaria and North Macedonia for years. Needless to say, depending on their background and beliefs, the citizens of each country will cherish the historic narrative which appeals to them the most, no matter what version of truth the Joint Multidisciplinary Expert Commission approves for mass consumption."

It is time we told all those ideologists of the Friendship Treaty what we think about it!
