Sooner or later, every vintage items seller on Etsy will receive an email from Etsy Marketplace Integrity Team asking them to prove the exact age of their vintage items. For seller who have tags/labels on their items with written dates, they will be ok, but for those who even though sell genuine vintage items, but without any written date/label on them, their items will not be considered as vintage by the Etsy Marketplace Integrity team and their shop will be suspended.

Every vintage items dealer knows that despite being genuinely antique, not every vintage item has a written date, it is determined by the buyer/seller of such items by their experience. Many visual signs are read by experienced dealers of such vintage items to call an item real/fake, but Etsy do not consider visual signs valid enough to consider an item vintage, because they don't have experienced people on their team to determine the age of an item. If buyers/sellers are agreeing that a certain item is vintage or not, why can't Etsy simply play the part of being a facilitator instead of being a guarantor.

For handmade sellers, some handmade methods are acceptable for them and some are not, they do not have the right to judge that whether a certain method involves enough handwork and others don't.
