Ethiopian American Civic Council is indeed grateful for your participation in the petition campaign organized to voice our collective stance regarding GERD. Today, we have reached a historic milestone by gathering over 200,000 signatures coinciding with the successful initial filling of the dam.
Ethiopian American Civic Council is now preparing to launch fund raising effort in coordination with the Minister of Water, Irrigation and Energy in Addis Ababa allowing Diaspora Ethiopians and friend of Ethiopia to contribute for the completion of the dam. We humbly request your cooperation awaiting our announcement of the start of the campaign which we are hopeful to be in the coming days.
Congratulations again for partaking in one of the most successful petition drives ever accomplished by Ethiopian diaspora. More importantly, for responding to Ethiopia’s call for “fair share of the Nile water to lift its people out of poverty”
